Neodymium Phosphate

Usually appears as a light purple or pale pink solid, the color originates from the f-f electron transition characteristics of neodymium ions. It is insoluble in water and weak acids but can slowly dissolve in concentrated sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, or nitric acid. Above about 200°C (the specific value varies slightly depending on the preparation method), it exhibits excellent high-temperature stability. It has a low thermal expansion coefficient and good resistance to thermal shock.

1. Optical and laser materials

-Used as a precursor for neodymium-doped laser crystals (such as Nd:YAG) for solid-state lasers.

-Used as a matrix or activator in fluorescent materials for display and lighting equipment.

2. Ceramics and functional materials

-Added to ceramics to improve high temperature resistance, mechanical strength and dielectric properties.

-Used to prepare special glass, improve optical transmittance and refractive index.

3. Catalysts

-As a catalyst carrier or active component, it is involved in organic synthesis (such as polymerization reaction) and environmental protection catalysis (waste gas treatment).

4. Nuclear industry

-Due to the high neutron absorption cross section of neodymium, it may be used for nuclear waste solidification or neutron shielding material (depending on the specific isotope).
