  • Nano-prasedymium oxide (Pr₆O₁₁) is a rare earth nanomaterial with unique physicochemical properties that plays an important role in ceramics, chemical industry, energy, and other fields due to its vivid color and excellent catalytic activity. This black-brown nano-powder typically has a particle size of 30-100 nanometers, with high chemical and thermal stability.

  • In ceramic coloring, nano-prasedymium oxide is one of the most commonly used ceramic colorants, known as the "makeup artist of ceramics." It imparts bright yellow to orange-yellow hues to ceramics with strong tinting strength and stable color that does not easily fade. In daily-use ceramics, products containing 0.5-2% nano-prasedymium oxide have a bright yellow appearance, resistant to high temperatures, acids, and alkalis, suitable for tableware and sanitary ware. In structural ceramics, nano-prasedymium oxide-colored ceramics not only have an attractive appearance but also maintain high strength and wear resistance, widely used in mechanical parts and decorative materials.

  • Nano-prasedymium oxide also has important applications in glass coloring. Adding it to glass produces yellow glass with special properties that effectively absorbs ultraviolet rays while transmitting visible light, widely used in automotive and architectural glass. In optical glass, it improves refractive index and dispersion properties, used in manufacturing lenses and prisms for high-end optical instruments.

  • In catalysis, nano-prasedymium oxide exhibits excellent catalytic performance as an efficient catalyst for various chemical reactions. In automobile exhaust purification, as a catalyst additive, it enhances catalyst activity and stability, promoting oxidation of carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons while facilitating nitrogen oxide reduction. Experimental data shows that catalysts containing nano-prasedymium oxide increase conversion rates of harmful substances in automobile exhaust by 15-20% with service lives extended to over 80,000 kilometers.

  • In solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs), nano-prasedymium oxide is an important electrolyte modifier. Lanthanum zirconate electrolyte materials doped with nano-prasedymium oxide exhibit higher oxygen ion conductivity, reaching over 0.1S/cm at medium-low temperatures (600-800℃), significantly reducing fuel cell operating temperature and improving stability and lifespan.

  • Nano-prasedymium oxide also plays a role in magnetic materials. It can form high-performance permanent magnets with other rare earth elements, improving coercivity and temperature stability. In aerospace, these modified magnets are used in high-precision sensors and drive devices, ensuring equipment operation in extreme environments.

  • With the continuous development of materials science, the application fields of nano-prasedymium oxide continue to expand, providing strong support for technological upgrading in multiple industrial sectors.
